The Starter Wife: Book, Series, Contests, Promo

I don't remember anymore where I first heard about The Starter Wife but it got my interest right away. I chanced upon a copy of the book in Powerbooks Shangri-La and I read the first few pages. As it has always been my practice not to read the book before the movie, I resisted getting myself a copy.

Hallmark Channel premiered The Starter Wife last Sunday at 9 PM and I was hooked from start to finish. Debra Messing rocked. The subplots about her friends were also interesting. I thought that it was a one-time thing but apparently they've made a series out of it. Now, I can't wait for Sunday.

I was so interested that I looked it up on the net and was happy to find that full episodes may be viewed on the internet. I was thrilled, only to be disappointed that it was not available in the Philippines.

One of my favorite blogs, Midlife Mysteries, is hosting 2 contests about the show in cooperation with Hallmark Channel. The first is a trivia contest while the other is an essay contest. Cathy_by the sea asks participants aged 35-55 to talk about how they've reinvented themselves.

Powerbooks has likewise teamed up with Hallmark Channel. Customers who buy a book from October 15-30 will get a special notebook from the cable channel.

Although I like writing projects, I'm not sure I'd join this one. I'm certain that I have not undergone reinvention like The Starter Wife did. Maybe I'd just buy the book.
