Yummy Peach Napoleones

In the song Reunited by Peaches and Herb, a line reads There's one perfect fit, And, sugar, this one is it. That in essence, describes the relationship of peaches and cream, the subject of Toni's March blog carnival.

My entry was inspired by Yummy November's Easy Strawberry Napoleones on page 73. I just substituted peaches for strawberries. The dessert is very easy to do and the recipe may be divided into 3 parts.

  • Deep fry molo wrappers until crisp. Set aside.
  • Mix 1/2 cup cream cheese and 2 tablespoons sugar in a bowl. Fold in 1 cup whipped cream. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix. Chill.
  • Put a dollop of the cream mixture on a plate. Top alternately with molo wrapper, cream, fruit and cream. Layer as you wish.

An easy Easter Sunday dish. If you have peaches and cream in the pantry, reunite them now.

That's very nice, Dr. Em! (I would set the wrappers aside on a paper towel, though..) :) I didn't even know the name of the group that sang Reunited. I just keep hearing the song on 96.3 W-Rock, hahaha :)

looks yummy, em. how about using melted vanilla ice cream instead of the cream?

reunited by peaches and herb? that brings back memories.

Manggy, I agree to get rid of excess oil. Initially, I wanted to put in some herb to match the group's name but thought it best to stick to the recipe.

Mon, that's an option but the ice cream might make the molo wrappers lose its crispness if you don't consume it right away. And I haven't mastered taking pictures of ice cream. It melts before I can take a nice shot.

That looks really good Em. I'll give it a try one of these days. Thanks for sharing.

J., just like the letter said...

Yum! Doesn't the whole ice-cream-melting thing make you realize what a great job these food stylists do? I like that you used molo wrappers for a local take on the dessert.:)

Gina, it is. Any fruit will do.

Toni, thanks again for hosting.

Cruising in Life, please do.

J, just like the letter, now that I'm actively taking pictures, when I read magazines I look for the names of the stylist especially if it's really good.
