Mall of Asia

Remember when I said that my life's complete even without having been to some malls in the city? Well, scratch Mall of Asia off the list.

I found myself within walking distance of this mall and decided finally to give it a look to see what the fuss is all about.

The place is huge. Establishments are distributed in only two floors but the floor space is so extensive that the place ranks as the largest mall in the Philippines despite that. I walked mostly the areas without air conditioning and those fronting the bay. Most of the latter are occupied by restaurants giving its diners an imposing view of the bay. Definitely a plus point as the Manila bay sunset is spectacular. Anchor tenants are the SM department store and hypermarket. It also houses the SM Science and Discovery Center and connects to the SMX Convention Center. Escalators, elevators and stairs are easily accessible and are within the central, well-lit areas. This is a good thing. Foreign studies on physical activity have lamented the fact that most stairs in public areas are located far from the central areas making it less conducive for people to walk. But I digress.

Because of the summer heat, walking those areas without air conditioning was a chore but the delicious lunch and refreshing drink I had in one of the restaurants fronting the bay more than made up for it.

Most of the people I saw had their cameras with them and were eagerly taking photographs of the view or of themselves as the place affords many photo opportunities.

For a non-mall rat like me, the only advantage of MOA over other malls is the view of the bay and the discovery and convention centers not available elsewhere.

Was just around there, too Em Dy (ha! PCP. Figures!), and captured a really gorgeous Manila Bay sunset. But then again, aren't these always gorgeous?

Seriously, maybe next year we should plan a Pinoy MD EB at PCP. We should even try to get a slot for a conference. Imagine that.

Tita Des, it was a good week and god venue too. New and huge. Not cramped like in previous times. Good sound system. From a selfish point of view though, I'd prefer somewhere closer to where I work.

Megamom, saw the sunset in your blog. Hope you get better soon.

So, you guys were there too? I missed the first two days and only got there late on the last day. Was able to attend only one plenary session with Sen. P. Cayetano.

First time ng PCP sa SMX. Sabi ni Dr. Yu (PCP Pres.), baka daw next year, doon ulit. LOL! Goodbye, EDSA Shang!

Yes, a PCP EB among medbloggers would be a great idea.
