The Filipino Breakfast

A typical Filipino breakfast is composed of fried rice or sinangag, eggs or itlog and a viand or ulam. The meal is named after the combination. In photo is tapsilog, a meal comprising of tapa, sinangag and itlog. There are limitless variations: cornsilog, longsilog, tocilog to name a few.

This meal is most often missed when traveling abroad and breakfast choices are limited.

Personally, my favorite items to go with rice and egg are tapa, longganisa, bacon and SPAM. I don't care much for corned beef or daing.

What about you? What's your favorite -silog?

Back in the dorm many moons ago we were fed hotdog and fried rice and fried eggs. That's what I miss.

I love longsilog and tapsilog in that order. I like both served with fried garlic rice and fried eggs. The best! :)

Manggy and Ruy, tocino's good too.

Manggy and Candishh, I don't think I've tried chicken longganisa and tocino.

Photo Cache, hotdog's good too! May be eaten with cheese too. Yummy!

Panaderos, me too! Jollibee's my favorite when it comes to longsilog. I don't like the oily longsilog though.
